I’m doing what I love right now. Writing to you about important matters through the internship of my dreams. I’m not exaggerating when I say that working with Real Life. Real Talk. is what I’ve been dreaming about since I was a pre-teen.
Health education and women’s rights have always been a passion of mine. When I excitedly tell my peers at school, karate or dance that I’m interning with a program whose tagline is “supporting parents in raising sexually healthy kids,” I won’t lie I end up with a lot of explaining to do. “Wait, you’re doing what? Sex education! Aren’t you, like, seventeen? Isn’t that awkward?”
The questions abound, and I begin to describe why Real Life. Real Talk. is important, to me and to Syracuse. So this is perfect! Not only do I get to help create discussions about healthy sexuality through these blog, but just by mentioning my internship, I get the discussion going.

Kelsey,
For a seventeen year old, you are incredible! It makes me proud that young adults are taking responsibility and exploring what healthy sexuality means. You are a pioneer for your age group.
Keep up the good work!
